End Times Timeline

New Jerusalem by DoreThis is intended to be a general guide to the events of the last days within and following the time of the Tribulation period. Notes:

Bowls of Wrath timing

It is hard to say when the bowls of wrath take place for they must come after the 144,000 are gathered before God in Revelation 14 yet before the end where the voice from heaven says “it is done” during the 7th bowl of wrath. It is said in Revelation 10:7 that “in the days of the sounding of the seventh angel, when he is about to sound, the mystery of God would be finished.” This can be interpreted that the days of the 7th trumpet last some time during which the bowls of wrath could possibly take place within this time period. The final bowls of wrath are the most devastating events on the Earth and so it could also be assumed that they may happen during the Great Tribulation which is the worse half of the 7 years. In addition: during the 7th trumpet may only be sounded when the kingdoms of the Earth are actively in Christ’s possessions. So it appears that both the 7th bowl and the 7th trumpet may coincide somehow and are some of the last signals from heaven having to do with the end this age.

The Sheep and the Goats

It is often assumed that the separation of the goats and sheep is the separation of the Church from the unbelievers at the time when Christ comes down to Earth to judge. The believers are blessed and the unbelievers are cursed. However this posses a few problems with other surrounding events that happen after Jesus comes to Earth. First there is the scenario where if the goats are unbelievers and are cursed by Jesus in to everlasting fire and so the only people left on the Earth would be believers. Therefore if Armageddon happens after the judgment of the nations there would be no wicked people to be deceived by the antichrist to fight against Christ. So therefore Armageddon must happen before the judgment of the nations. To add to this placement of Armageddon Christ’s second coming is recorded in Revelation 19 as coming on a horse with his armies behind Him so it appears that He is first prepared for war and then commences the judgment of the nations. My only logical conclusion to this is that not every unbeliever fights in the battle of Armageddon and those who do not fight are still alive after the battle and thus are judged and sent in to eternal fire in the judgment of the nations. Another interpretation may be that Christ is judging the believers that are alive at the end of the Great Tribulation, separating the true believers (sheep who here His voice) and the goats (those only having the appearance of Godliness, perhaps apostates).

Judgments of the Living and Dead

The judgment of the nations (the gathering) is a judgment of those living on the Earth when Christ returns and thus ending the period known as the Great Tribulation. The terrible events during the tribulation period are ongoing judgments on those on the Earth for their evils against Gods name and Israel. Also, based on scripture such as Jeremiah 30:3-7 it can be understood that the Tribulation catastrophes are punishment upon Israel and the Jews who do not accept Christ. After the judgment of the nations is the age of Christ’s millennial reign in which those who died before the judgment of the nations have remained untouched for they are held in Hades. The next judgment called The Great white throne judgment is the judgment of the wicked who were in Hades but are brought out of it before God, judged, and then thrown in to the lake of fire which is eternal punishment.
